Jouer Powder Highlighter Trio is a limited edition set of the three best selling powder highlighting trio from the brand. There are two different sets that was released and I will be reviewing the set that includes Skinny Dip, Ice and Rose Gold. These products are not tested on animals and they are made in USA.
These highlighting powder are also free from paraben, gluten and they are Dermatologist tested. The net weight of these mini version highlighter is 2g or 0.07 oz each. The set costs USD $39 or AUD $55. They are currently (as of Thursday, the 25th of January 2018) available online from Beauty Bay.com or Beautylish.com.
The packaging of these mini versions are beautifully designed, just as the full-size version of the highlighter. They also comes with mirrors inside the little compacts. These mini highlighter are compact, light and reasonable sturdy. They are perfect for travel and can easily fit in a clutch for touch ups throughout the day. The only downfall of the packaging is that it is very easy to get dirty as it easily retain our fingerprints. I need to clean the compact frequently.
Shades in Jouer Powder Highlighter Trio
Skinny Dip is a gorgeous shimmering golden peach that blended on the skin very well. It gives the skin a healthy warm glow naturally. We can layer this shade up and create a more intense glow for those of you who love an “out of this world” glow.
Ice is a beautiful icy holographic pearl that I thought would be too light for my skin tone but it ended up to be the one that I love the most out of the three.
Usually, I would steer clear from shades that is too frosty as I don’t like the effect it gives on my skin and this is just my personal preferences. But, this shade intrigues my for whatever reason and I decided to give it a go. Wow, I didn’t expect the result at all, it was simply gorgeous on me!
Rose Gold is a beautiful shimmering rose gold shade and this shade can be worn alone and it is great as a blush topper as well. The pigment in this shade is not as rich as the other two but I don’t mind it, as it can create a different effects when used as a topper and add an extra boost to any blushes that I have owned.
Pigment and Texture
I have not owned Jouer products before and I am quite pleased with the richness of pigmentation of these highlighter. They are not the softest powder out there and they feel more on the drier side but still easily blended.
These mini highlighters lasts for a good five hours on me on a hot summer day. They exceeded my expectation!
I am impressed that these little highlighters do not contain Talc! It is a cheap filler and it’s better not to have it in the product. I applauded Jouer for being able to use quality ingredients, ensuring the richness of the pigments and yet still keeping the price point affordable to consumers.
Overall, these are nice little highlighters that are perfect for travel. And if you have never tried Jouer highlighter like me, these limited edition sets will be a good sampler to “taste” the best-selling highlighter from the brand. If you love one colour or another, you can buy them in full-size.
Are they a must to have? No, I personally don’t think so. The colours are quite similar to other highlighters that I have seen in the market before. I would recommend these only if you are looking for mini sizes makeup products that is convenient for travel and if you are after a high-quality highlighters.
